It is good to get into the habit of changing up to a higher gear as soon as you can. Higher gears are more economical in terms of fuel consumption.***

Our research told us that Synergy is the best name for Esso’s fuel brand. Synergy incorporates a significant forecourt image upgrade – the first in nearly 20 years – with many innovative design elements to communicate fuel offers more consistently and effectively to customers.

Drive smoothly and at a reasonable speed whenever possible –driving at high speeds may use more fuel than driving at slower speeds. Remember, if you accelerate or brake suddenly it is likely that your engine will use up more fuel and produce more CO₂.

You can make the most of Tesco Clubcard at Esso branded service stations that have a Tesco Express shop, but at most Esso branded service stations, we have a new loyalty offer. See here for details and find participating Esso branded service stations using the Esso Fuel Finder.

Anticipate the flow of traffic as far ahead of you as possible to help you avoid unnecessary stopping and starting. This will help you to drive more smoothly.

You can continue to make the most of Tesco Clubcard at around 200 Esso branded service stations that have a Tesco Express shop – nothing is changing for those service stations. At most participating Esso branded service stations, we have a new loyalty scheme – see here for details.
